Guest lucky_erickson
I just ordered up a T/C Black Diamond XR, and was wondering if anybody has tried shooting around a 150 to 175 grain bullet. I bought it in hopes of getting a really flat shooting gun for the minnesota slug season. The gun will be topped with a burris scope. Just looking for some imput. Thanks alot for any that you may have.
AJ
Re: .45 Cal powder and bullet recomendations I am using a 175 gr .357" Dead Center in my Knight 45 cal. It shoots decent groups and is very nice on deer. I also have some 195 gr .357" and 200 gr .40" bullets to try someday.

AJ
Re: .45 Cal powder and bullet recomendations I have not chronoed it but I will guess its between 2150 and 2200 fps. I am shooting 135 gr of Pyrodex in a 26" barrel.
Hoosierbuck
Re: .45 Cal powder and bullet recomendations I was using a light (maybe it was 150 gr. T/C shockwave saboted?)bullet in my .45 Disc Extreme, with 150 gr. of Pyrodex pellets. Accurracy was outstanding at long range, knock down power sucked. Good buck at 90 yards-no exit, no blood trail. Dead deer 50 yards into the woods, perfectly mushroomed under the hide on far side. Doe at 125 yards-no recovery. Switched to 195 gr. and bigger Powerbelts. Small doe at 60 yards...I followed the short blood trail in the dark with no flashlight. I know there are other explanations for these resluts, but rather than give just my opinion, I thought the basis for the opinion might mean more to you. Hoosierbuck
Re: .45 Cal powder and bullet recomendations Point of clarification: the bullets I referred to earlier should read 155 XTP magnum bullets in T/C sabots., not shockwave as stated.
