I just ordered up a T/C Black Diamond XR, and was wondering if anybody has tried shooting around a 150 to 175 grain bullet. I bought it in hopes of getting a really flat shooting gun for the minnesota slug season. The gun will be topped with a burris scope. Just looking for some imput. Thanks alot for any that you may have.

Re: .45 Cal powder and bullet recomendations

I was using a light (maybe it was 150 gr. T/C shockwave saboted?)bullet in my .45 Disc Extreme, with 150 gr. of Pyrodex pellets. Accurracy was outstanding at long range, knock down power sucked. Good buck at 90 yards-no exit, no blood trail. Dead deer 50 yards into the woods, perfectly mushroomed under the hide on far side. Doe at 125 yards-no recovery. Switched to 195 gr. and bigger Powerbelts. Small doe at 60 yards...I followed the short blood trail in the dark with no flashlight. I know there are other explanations for these resluts, but rather than give just my opinion, I thought the basis for the opinion might mean more to you.
