Prayer request for my wife

My wife got ill suddenly the other day. She went to the doctor and he sent her for xrays. Got the results today and she has a partially collapsed lung. He said it seems that a pneumonia set in and caused this thing extremely quick since she had no trauma which could have caused it also. He also said she should be admitted to the hospital but she is too stubborn to go. So right now we pray that the meds help her get better while we take turns watching over her. Thank goodness the boys are on Christmas break right now.

Please say a prayer for her (Doris aka TheViperess)

Re: Prayer request for my wife

Prayers sent dude.

Now don't kill the messenger but get your wife to the hosipital!

The lungs and pneumonia are very hard to beat because the lungs don't accept uptake of antibiotics very well. Therefore, it is usually a long process to heal.

Pneumonia can permanently scar the lungs and even some healthy people die from it. Remember the movie 'Meet the parents'? Remember the sister that was getting married? She's dead. She went to the hospital and they mis-diagnosed her. She died of Pneumonia in her early 30's.

Your wife could cause permanent scarring that could cause her some real problems---especially seeing as how the lung collapsed already.

Force her to go....Doctors don't put you in the hospital unless they have to.

Re: Prayer request for my wife

I'm not full of it, my wife works in a hospital in Radiology.

Pneumonia is one of those weird things that can go from a minor thing to a life threatening thing in a very short period of time. The odd thing is that it isn't like the onset of a headache where you can tell it changed in a short period of time. The problem is that it comes on so slow that by the time it is noticed, it is often too late.

With the collapsed lung, you are playing with fire if you don't get her to the hospital for some IV antibiotics. Since the lung is collapsed, it is hard to inflate it and let nature clean the lung out and get blood to it (along with the antibiotics). Pneumonia on top of a collapsed lung is especially dangerous because the breathing is made more shallow by the discomfort of trying to breath using the bad lung. Then the pneumonia is made that much harder to clear. The hospital has many more resources that you can't do at home.

Please take her. I wouldn't want that on my conscience.

Re: Prayer request for my wife

Thanks....things are moving on the nedical front.

However after dropping off a extended leave of absence to her employer I was informed that she was terminated from her job. I asked for a note stating the reason why and they did a much of mumbo jumbo and said they will fight her on unemployment. Just last week they were praising her work and gave her a small Christmas bonus. I believe it is just because she was the one supposed to work Saturday and Sunday. mad.gifmad.gif

Might have to have the internet shut off now.

Re: Prayer request for my wife

Nut,

Sorry, that's a crappy thing to do to her. I would contact an attorney to see if they can really do that.

She will get her unemployment, there isn't much they can do to deny her that.

It will all work out for the better but this is a crappy time to have it all crash in.

Prayers,
