Guest TerryH
Is this a pretty good muzzleloader? How much are the conversion kits to convert them to 209 primers selling for? Are they fairly easy to clean?
lil hunter
Re: Remington 700 They come new with the 209 primer now. I have one and it's a decent gun. It shoots pretty accurately. It's pretty easy to dissasemble and clean also. If you can get a good deal on one, go ahead and buy it. The only complaint that I have, is when I first got it, and I was shooting pellets, it took a second for the pellets to ignite. I'd pull the trigger and here a "PaBOOOOM" Now i shoot with loose powder, and it's just a nice "BOOOOOOOOOOM"
AJ
Re: Remington 700 My only gripe about the M700 ML is there is too much blow back through the breech. My other guns do not have anywhere near the same level of crud that comes back through the breechplug/nipple. Other than that, it is a decent gun. AJ
Re: Remington 700 All the new nipple kit does is makes the use of 209 primers easier. Its still got the same basic design. Plus, I do not like 209 primers. Maybe the Vari-Flame adapters will be ok.
tedicast
Re: Remington 700 I agree with AJ on the blowback. My Leupold Vari-x-2 has the scars to prove it. Did I read that Remington discontinued this gun?
hangunnr
Re: Remington 700 I just bought a 45 cal to go along with my 50 cal Remington. I haven't found any other ML that fits me as good as the Remington does. I use musket caps on the 50 cal and while there is some blowback I don't find it intolerable. I plan on working with the 209-4 primers in the 45 cal. I do believe Remington has discontinued the 700ML series of guns. I've heard rumors that they have a new gun in the works. hangunnr
