ok sherm, in this situation, are the pretzels open, or not? are they the long stick kind of pretzels, or the little twisted kind?

cuz, it makes a difference you know, before you tab a beer.

I already told ya Bart...it's illegal to chase beer with pretzels here. So I don't have any experience with using pretzels at all. blush.gif

Maybe you could share your techniques, since it all sounds quite legal where you are. tongue.gif

Re: Going beer hunting !

I'm not an expert or anything but I've seen beers in many color phases where I hunt, both tabbed and twisted before putting them down. Some go down easy and others take a few shots. I here the largest typical ever downed was a pitcher in a beer hunting contest. There is still a non typical class open for the hardcore beer hunter with the capacity to down one of those monsters in mccurtaincountyhunters pic of that darn poacher.

Re: Going beer hunting !

I don't know about you guys but after i shoot a big beer I get a little light headed... I've also heard of some guys taking multiple beers with one shot!!!! I thought I take down multiple beers with one shot once...But upon firing the shot, the gun malfunctioned and exploded in my face.....Luckily no one was hurt, but a wasteful effort at that.....Theres always a story about the one that got away......

Re: Going beer hunting !

ones that got away.....

i remember once while hunting beers in the enlisted man's club out in Petaluma California, i wanted to hunt an exotic beer, i think it was a German type called Becks, but when i went to scrounge up the cost of the non-resident tab, i found that being on enlisted pay, i could only afford a domestic tab, so i think i got one called "Miller"

later that night, some buddies of mine had extra "sailor damage tabs", so they bought me a few extra tabs. that was a fun night. smile.gif

The one's that got away??

I remember one that got away...

It was August 15th, 1995. My friend Jack Daniels and I were just messing around. I didn't take beerhunting as serious back then and neither did Jack. We were in college and more interested in having fun.

If I remember correctly we were hanging with a few of our friends when Sam Adams, a frat boy, drove up with a couple of beers in the back of his Volvo.

"Beers?", we asked, "When did you start tabbing??"

"Heck, I've been tabbing since I was old enough to pop a knife in the bottom of a can.", he said.

"Ya'll want one?", he asked.

I looked over Jack and his jaw dropped. He couldn't believe I was considering the invitation. But something told me to try it.

If I remember correctly, Sam left before I could grab another. Needless to say, I was beerhunting that night. Been a beerhunter ever since.

I woke up the next morning with tons of energy and whole new outlook on life. One of the greatest nights of my life.

One of these days, I'll tell ya'll about the night I did some beerhunting before running with Jack. WHEW! Mighty Risky! grin.gif
