Re: rabbits

I went out for a few hours yesturday afternoon. It was me, my grandpa and cousin. We jumped a total of about 12-15 rabbits. Not a single one was killed.lol. In the area we were huntin, you only see the rabbits for a second or two and they're gone. You gotta be ready, and quick to shoot if you see them. We also jumped a buncha quail, didn't kill any of them either though. Oh well, hopefully we'll shoot a little better next time.

Re: rabbits

[ QUOTE ]

Just wondering if anybody has killed any rabbits yet this year,I've got one so far.

I've haven't shot any Rabbits in two years. Last one I got was in KY. Seems like the Rabbit numbers have been low ever since we had terrible winter conditions here in SW Indiana in the late '70's. Also urban spraw along with changes in farming, free roaming Cats & Dogs as well as Coyotes have taken a toll on Cottontails. frown.gif

To many predators feed on them for you to worry about hurting your rabbit population. If you dont hunt them something else will.

While I don't disagree with your above comment, I don't think there's any way they will be eradicated. Maybe locally, but not wholesale.
