useing peroxide to get the meat off instead?

instead of cutting as much meat off with a knife could you just boil the meat off? or put it in peroxide to eat it off? than proseed with the steps instead or would that ruin something??? sorry for the dumb question but i just got the head all cleaned up now all is the meat round the bones and his eyes... and o ya should i cut the eyes out or leave em in and boil them out??? and any extra information would be greatly appreciated grin.gif

I've never done it myself yet, (I have 2 to do in the spring), but why try and boil them out, cut as much away with the knife as you can to save on the boiling time. Plus if I remember correctly, you actually don't want the water boiling, but more like simmering...I might be wrong, but my taxidermist told me that boiling water can make the smaller bones fragile because the water is too hot for them.

If you have the entire kneck cut off just put it into the boiling water mixed with sal soda. You can use a coat hanger to pull the eyes out, but watch out for the fluid sack within the eye ball,so it don't squirt out all over you. I never cut off any meat before boil.
