Tominator Posted June 13, 2003 Report Share Posted June 13, 2003 yeah, i've heard that. i think the deer that grows 1 inch a day is the moose, elk and sometimes caribou msm, not whitetail. i think they stop growing around early september though. Buckmasters did an article on that last year. they reported that their deer on average lost their velvet on september 6th. this was in new york i think, so 4 months of growing would be standard around here i guess. genetics has a lot to do with it too i think.
