Stinger-Hunter
I have a question about the .17 caliber. When shot, is it much louder than a .22? I'm looking for something relatively quiet and have had a .22 for years. Would a .17 serve my needs while hunting Coyotes?
AJ
Re: .17 vs .22 The 17M2 is similar in report to the 22 lr. The 17 HMR is similar in report to the 22 Mag. The .17 Remington is similar in report to the .223 Remington. I consider the .17 HMR to me the very minimum for coyotes at close range (under 100 yards). You must make shots in the vitals.
