Need some Prayers

This past Friday we were told that my father has cancer. He was in the hospital for something that we didn't realize was related. He's not a candidate for surgery and they think that chemo and radiation would be even worse for him. The doctors say the disease has a 30% survival rate over 2 years for an otherwise healthy, young person. My mother passed 12 years ago very suddenly and I always regretted not having a chance to say good bye. I have the time now with my father but can't find the words. Were hoping he'll get to come home soon but he has a chest tube in that won't stop draining. Thank you.

Re: Need some Prayers

God be with you and your family, He says it will all be revealed to us in heaven. I sure would like to know why things happen now though. Just remember, when we were 3 yrs old, we couldn't understand why mommy was letting that mean doctor give us a shot. In her wisdom, she knew it was for our best interest. Imagine how much more the lord knows what's in our best interest. good luck

Re: Need some Prayers

Billkay, I pray that you will have the peace of God in your heart. Know that with God there is no percentages when it comes to his children, He is involved at all times weather its walking with us in the sickness or holding us in his arms when we are too weak. Tell your dad how much you love him and talk about the good times. Give him lots of hugs and pray togather for his healing. If it is his time spend it with happiness. You will see him again. If it not his time and Jesus heals him you will be closer than before and God will get the Glory.Mat 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. He can still do that and that is my prayer for you and your Dad. God Bless you.

Re: Need some Prayers

It must be working! We got some good news from the oncologist. With the help of some new chemo meds, he thinks 2-3 years is not out of the question. Our first doctor thought 1 month to 1 year. My father also had 1 of his chest tubes removed. The 2nd one he can go home with. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers, but please keep them coming if you don't mind
