Turkeygirl
Ok, I was out hunting for rabbits/squirrel/grouse Friday afternoon. I hiked into this one spot where some Blue Spruce, White Spruce, and Balsam Fir had been planted, probably a long time ago, maybe an old farm had been there. Anyway there is a ton of briars grwing there and it is a good rabbit spot, though I didn't see any tracks. Well the big thing is, I was walking along the outside of this patch of pines/briars and what do I see? Two Balsam Fir, there trunks wider around than my hip, with BIG RUBS on them! I got so excited and I had my camera so I took a photo. Those are the biggest rubs I've ever seen. I'm hoping whatever buck made them made it through the season so I can find his sheds. BuckNrut
Re: What I saw Friday..... Those sound like some really big rubs regardless. Post season scouting will surely pay off next year, especiall if antler restrictions are implemented.
buckee
Re: What I saw Friday..... Hey, Hey ...good find there TG. Don't forget about that spot now for next year. It sounds very promising. Small bucks make rubs on small trees. Big bucks make rubs on small and big trees, and usually, the bigger the tree, the more likely, the bigger the buck also
