Beer Camp or Deer Camp?

Its that time of year. Once again we pose the question.

Do you go to Beer Camp or Deer camp. smirk.gif

I do a bit of both. My house is my camp, and my brothers now too, so we hunt hard all day and drink beer after hours. cool.giflaugh.gif

Although I have gone away to camp and it turned out to be more a time away from the wife and kids, to do some beer drinking, and road hunting.

I still went out on stand but most did not.

I prefer Deer camp with a few brews after hours...

Whats your bag? wink.gif

Re: Beer Camp or Deer Camp?

i have one of each...this weekend i am going up for DEER camp to michigans upper penninsula...leaving friday and coming back wednesday...then thanksgiving weekend a couple cousins and myself meet at my aunt and uncles house who live out in the middle of no where for BEER camp smile.gif usually throw back a few each night wake up around 8 or 9 and eat a huge breakfast that my aunt starts making at around 6...then get everything planned and head out around 12is...we usually have enough people to where we just do a deer drive...last year my cousins husband took a spike and i passed up a shot at a small doe (was running across a field didn't have a good shot)

Can't say for whitetails. But at my elk camp---it's hard hunting. You get up at 4 AM to be at your stand before 1st lite---then your out till dark & hike back in the dark. By the time you get back to camp--your bone tired. You have a little supper, start the woodstove & hit the rack. To do it all over again the next day.

After the season is over or if you get a bull----then I may have a Cold Coors.

Re: Beer Camp or Deer Camp?

I get a little carried away once I start drinking beer so I generally don't drink the evening before a hunt. After a long days hunt I may drink a couple but not any more than that if I'm hunting the next day. I prefer to feel good and be able to have a clear mind when I hunt.

Deer camp! There's other time to play, of course being from the cheese head state, I will never turn down a cold one, especially on Sunday's during the Packer game, or Saturday's during Badger games (waiting by the truck), or Monday's and Tuesday's during Buck's games, Wendsdays.... Hmmm.... maybe it is a little beer camp?

Re: Beer Camp or Deer Camp?

A LITTLE OF BOTH FOR ME.OUR DEER CAMP FOR SHOTGUN SEASON IS AN HOUR AND A HALF AWAY FROM THE HOUSE.WE CELEBRATE JUST BEING TOGETHER WITH OUR FRIENDS AND HAVING A GOOD TIME.WE DRINK PLENTY OF BEER AFTER THE HUNT,AND EVEN TAKE A PULL OFF OF THE HARD STUFF IF A CELEBRATION IS IN ORDER.WE'RE USUALLY IN THE SACK BY 10 OR 10:30 SO I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM GETTING UP AT 5 A.M.(UNLESS I FILL MY TAGS EARLY)
