PAbowhunter86
This christmas I got a fletching jig and alot of fletching. I have already started making them and I am waiting for the second one to dry right now. The first one didnt turn out the fletchings came off when I touched it. Dont think I had much glue on it. oh well. The arrows I am fletching now are ok for pratice but I wouldnt use them for 3d or hunting so they dont really matter to much just something to practice fletching on. If any one has any advice send it my way.
Straight Shooter
Re: Time to start making arrows!!!! PA-run a bead of glue about the width of the base of the fletching. That'll give you ample enough glue to hold it on. don't worry about the excess that comes out the sides, it'll dry and shrink. Be sure and clean the shafts in the area for the fletchings, with alcohol before putting the fletchings on. I also use some 400 grit sand paper to rough up the surface some for a better grip with the glue. Then clean that with alcohol.
