LifeNRA
Can a normal super glue be used? If not, what do you all use? The tube that was in the package was all dried up. I have some of this CA40 superglue made from 3M. This stuff is dangerously sticky!
NonTypicalDeerHunter
Re: Fletching glue??? i spose, but im not sure you should try callin a sporting goods store, i use that goat glue stuff and that works good
BowJoe
Re: Fletching glue??? I use goat tuff and so do all of the pro shops I go to. I think that once you get a good glue then you should concetrate on the prep. I prep my arrows with a really rough grit sand paper to scratch up the surface and then I use either alcohol or an acetone based cleaner to remove any loose debris. I wear gloves during that part of the prep because I don't want all of that acetone in my system. It soaks in almost instantly through the skin. Ventilate well if you can. I then fletch with a steady bead of glue and voila'. Nice new arrows.

tedicast
Re: Fletching glue??? We use AAE Fastset Gel. Have never had a problem with a vane peeling off.
dg
Re: Fletching glue??? Super Glue GEL. Ben using it for years with plastifletch vanes and carbon shafts. The vane will rip in two before the base lets go.
dogdoc
Re: Fletching glue??? super glue gel works great--just a little easier to use than the plain super glue but they both work fine. I fletched many of arrows with plain super glue.

Guest ConchoMan
Re: Fletching glue??? I have tried some stuff like that super glue cyno epoxy, what I use is Bohning Fletch-Tite Platinum. It works pretty well I have nocked some fletchings off after they fly threw the grass and a few other times while messing with my new drop away rest. but the fletch tite works way better then super glue

LifeNRA
Re: Fletching glue??? Only thing is, AAE says I should use the Speedset glue, because of the fletch. Or is this just not right? Sounds like there pulling one here!
VermontHunter
Re: Fletching glue??? John,, go ahead and use the AAE Fastset Gel... you won't have any problems at all, I've used the stuff on just about every vane out there with absolutely no problems what so ever.....
