chromage
Christmas eve, got patted down by the cops for "tresspassing." We were looking for a place to hang out and get away from the christmas party. Thank god we didn't get into any trouble that rsulted in me with less money, lol Yesterday, went down to the river where I hooked that steel christmas day. Water was up but perfect stain. Talked to a guy that had been fishing all days with no luck. I stepped in up river of him and hit a fish on my second drift through. Put up a decent fight and I landed a small 23 inch female. Perfect, because I needed some eggs. I pounded that hole and had one more hit but missed it. Moved on down with no luck. White bags were the ticket with a white jig. Got home, tied up some fresh spawn bags. Went out searching for some land to hunt but no luck. Then it was off to the river where again on my second cast I nailed another steelie. At first I thought it was a bigger one because it started of taking some drag. Then it surfeced and basically gave up. It was a smaller one with beautiful colors on it. It was then released. Another caught on a white bag. I walked alot of river, just checking it out since I haven't fished down there in awhile. Same program as yesterday. What a great couple of days. If I can't find a hunting spot in the afternoon, I know where i'll be tomarrow night and saturday night.
Guest finsnfur
Re: 2 days of steelheading sounds like fun. be happy you live close to both. living in IL i have to drive to WI to get my steelies and if they are not biting, then it is 4 hours of drive time and gas $$. really wish i could have gone out on xmas and leave the headaches inside to each other. good luck and stay dry.
