elkhntnfool
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT I would be interested in coming. It would be an 11 hour drive for me. I don't know if I would hunt or not. I won't know for sure until later. My father-in-law is planning on coming from missouri to go elk hunting with me here in Montana. We'll see when he wants to come.
rifleman25
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT Anyone from Iowa, Nebraska or other points east. I am going to and would be interested in meeting in Omaha or somewhere and riding out together. I might pass on the hunting as I will be elk and deer hunting a week before but am planning to attend just to hang out. Like I said before I have 2 14x16 wall tents with stoves and horses I am willing to bring if anyone is interested in packing a little less. Hoosierbuck
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT rifleman25 and others: If I don't draw into MT, then I would seriously consdier driving out for this from NW Indiana. Partly depends on what my buddy from Alaska decides if we don't draw in MT. If I drive out there, I'd love to hitch on with someone from here or at any point along the way to split gas and keep awake, etc. I am spitting distance to I-80, I-90, and I-94. Any possible rides besides hooking up with rifleman25 in Nebraska? Thanks, HB
elnor
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT I'd vote for holding the hunt during the muzzleloader season, which falls within archery. (Hopefully) good weather and during the rut.
silvertip_co
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT My vote is for archery elk and ML. Sept is beautiful out here, cold nites warm/hot days, and I'll be just over the hill at Elkatraz 3 inunit 45 so I can visit and hunt with y'all in unit 55 too. I start a new job in Denver on Feb 13, but will be around Pueblo a lot too when I am home. Let me know how I can be of help to all y'alls. Guest Andrea
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT Okay...are we still voting, cause I thought this thing was gonna happen October 21-29.
snapper
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT I thought the voting was done also...already put in for my vacation. If we change the date from Oct. 21st thru the 29th...good chance I won't make it. As much as I would love to take an elk with my bow...I feel my odds are much better with a rifle. Besides...not sure on the laws...but here you can hunt with your bow during rifle season if you choose. If thats the same in CO...then the folks who wanted to hunt with a bow, still could during the rifle season!

elnor
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT Sorry if I jumped in too late with my vote. I'm talking with some family members about going out during ML/archery, so it would've been great for me if it was in synch. Can't make Oct because of other hunting commitments at home (that's a good problem to have, though :-). Maybe next year. Anyway, hope everyone that can make it has a great time!
