AJ
Welcome to the group. Hmmm, out banging rounds off to celebrate the new year huh? Are you using a 3" hull or a 2 3/4" hull for your test? Does the slide fully retract? Is it comming back as far as its supposed to? You may have a bent ejector.
AJ
Re: Winchester 1300 question [ QUOTE ] One thing I question is this flat, long piece of metal that is mounted with a small phillips screw on the opposite side of the ejection port. It looks adjustable and there was no info about it in the manual. Thanks again. [/ QUOTE ] That is the ejector. It consists of parts 14-18 in this picture. The position of the ejector will determine how long the shells you use can be. besides the chamber length of course. The position fo the ejector will allow the bolt to bring het empty hull (casing) back until it clears the port, then the ejector pushes the hull out to the right. As the hull exits the port, it will do so at an angle so a longer hull can go out a shorter port. Are you gently cycling the action or are you pumping it normally? Sometimes, cycling slowly will allow the hull to get caught in the action. Cycling forcefully will (should) send the hull on its way outside the gun.
