Theres no way i can complain about this years hunting season. Many people in new york had mixed reviews about seeing deer and the entire season. i hunt mostly in Putnam and Dutchess counties. i saw alot of deer mostly does and fawns. Few small bucks, lil forkhorn and spikers. i did get lucky by getting the chance for these two bucks to come across.

Oct 26, 2005 at 5:10pm this buck came straight out of the swamp behind me as i was watching a doe and 2 fawns on a plateau. he was on a mission and was walking a straight line quartering away. i shot him at 30 yards with my Jennings airmaster bow and he ran 40 yards and stopped and dropped. Hes a 9 point, 5 on right 4 on left and had an inside spread of 18 inches.

This buck i shot on Nov 25, 2005 at 7:40 am. it was a cold morning, about 12 degrees, and the wind made it feel worse. The ground was frozen, so you could hear him walking way before i saw him. he started walking up a ridge and stop broadside at 65 yards. Aimed my remington 1100 12 gauge and fired. he hunched up and ran up and over the ridge. I waited ofr my father to come over which took about 15 minutes. Only to find he expired as soon as he went out of sight. He ran a total of about 50 yards. i took the took of his heart right off with the 1 oz piece of lead. Beautiful 8 point.
