Re: thinking of trying some magnus broadheads

Alright, here is my two cents worth.....I trust the blade to blow through any deer you shoot at....when the arrow is sitting on your arrow rest, the broadhead cannot, I mean cannot be horizontal.....as in 3pm to 9pm, or level left to right...its best to have the broadhead totally up and down, or slightly left to right, or vis versa.....like 1pm to 7pm, something like this ( / ) PM me if you have issues......the other thing is, not great bloodtrails, so keep an eye on the critter......due to the wound channel not opening up a great deal, just a slice....they are great to shoot, great accuracy, easy to sharpen, and stay sharp...poor blood trail.....if you decide to go with them, they will build your confidence, they cut awesome.....but stick with either the two blade, or the newest Stinger, because the older model with the "bleeder blades" are noisy as heck..........pm me if you need further advisement......al

Re: thinking of trying some magnus broadheads

well i have some 100 grain 4 blade muzzys and im getting tired of the dull blades where as the the2 bladed ones ill drag em across the the diamond stone and get em razor sharp......

how bad of a blood trail?

cause i shot one earlyer in the year with a expandable and only got 1 drop of blood about 200 yds away from where i shot him and he recoverd from the shot and then 2 nights ago my buddy shot the same deer with a satilite 3 blade broadhead and we only got litlle drops every now and again and never found the deer again.........I want to be able to follow the blood trail with ease

Re: thinking of trying some magnus broadheads

OK here is the update you asked for...your gonna get good blood if you hit lungs, all my deer shot with the Nuge blade didnt go over 70 yards tops.....the real question here Im getting is "best bang for your buck" this would be the Nugent blade, and while your at it, have your buddy trash those Satelites, and get Nuge blades as well.........but if your bow is tuned, and you have a hard time finding blood, Id spend the extra bucks and get an easy tune broadhead, like the 100 grain 4 blade Muzzy....trust me, the blades can be resharpened if your in a pinch with a wet stone if you know how to use it.....if you want a great flying head, and keep the angle of the head correct, then the Nuge blade kills deer.....keep me posted through PM's if I can help further buddy.....Im getting pumped to see your harvests, it will happen if you wait and take the correct shots.................al

Re: thinking of trying some magnus broadheads

went to the bow shop and he cut me a good deal on some that he used one season and then started using montecs so he sold me 6 2 bladed 100 grain tips for 15 bucks which included the the tip lock things so ive got them vertical (up and down for redneck talk) we lined em all up so they will fly perfect and then this evning I put a finishing edge.........I dont think i got hurt that bad smile.gif
