Alisha
Around 12-ish this morning I made a post saying how there were 12 of 13 coal miners in West Virginia found alive after an explosion that happened on Monday morning. I just happened to wake up a few minutes ago to fox news where it was announced that there were 12 miners dead and 1 in critical condition. I really wish they would find the scum bag that has messed with the emotions of these mens family members, friends, as well as the public. It is truely sick that someone could do something like this...... They claim that they won't point fingers at one paticular person for making this horrible mistake. Please pray that the one survivor pulls through this....

colts1888
Re: 12 of 13 coal miners in West Virginia found al Unfortunately those reports were wrong. It's now 3 AM and they just came out and said only 1 survived and he is critical. I cant imagine what the families are going through, apparently it was a "miscommunication" about them being alive. The media picked up and ran with it too without knowing for sure which doesnt help.

I can't understand how on earth someone could possibly get 12 survivors out of 11 dead and 1 survivor. At one point, the families were even told that the surviving miners would be brought to the church so they could see their loved ones before they were taken to the hospital!!! They're calling it a miscommunication, but I call it flat out LYING to people.

[/ QUOTE ] Its easy to play Monday morning quarterback. Things get twisted and skewed occasionally in highly emotional circumstances its even worse. The media tries to be the first with the story. I would not say they lied, they did not get the facts and concluded something that was wrong. Wouldn't be the first time this has happened. muggs
Re: 12 of 13 coal miners in West Virginia found al It seems like every year or two this happens. I'm not sure how much those miners get paid, but I'm sure it's no where close to being enough. Prayers to the families.

I'm not sure how much those miners get paid, but I'm sure it's no where close to being enough. Prayers to the families. [/ QUOTE ] Coal miners around here start out making $14-$16 an hour at the most... which is not nearly enough considering how dangerous a job they do every day or night. There's not much else here in West Virginia unless you have a job that deals with coal. It's either you work in coal, making what I mentioned above... you work some minimum wage job at a gas station, grocery store.. fast food, etc.... OR you just have to up and move to another state to find something better. Please please please say a prayer for the young man who is still alive.. he needs as many as he can get! Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: *edit* only 1 of 13 coal miners in WV found al [ QUOTE ] its called "staying the course" and " less regulation is better government" and PROFIT, PROFIT, and PROFIT! [/ QUOTE ] Not sure if I'm folowing you on this. I've always associated "staying the course" with the Bush Administration's policy on the War on Terror. Are you somehow equating the mining tragedy with the policies of the President? Just wondering...

stevebeilgard
Re: *edit* only 1 of 13 coal miners in WV found al it wasn't a scum bag making the mistake. it was a family member/rescue worker. he simply misunderstood, and called a relative on his cell phone. a simple mistake. the relatives passed on the "good news", and the news media carried it to us. god rest their souls. Jimfrompa
Re: 12 of 13 coal miners in West Virginia found al Father God I ask that you make your presence known to the family's of the miners who have died. Please turn this tragic accident into something that helps other miners to have better conditions in their work place. Father please be a real part of the healing that needs to take place, and may you recieve the souls of those who died. In the name of Jesus. Amen
