She asked what I was going to do with my old Bear. She said she wanted to learn to shoot. I got it off the sales rack at the pro shop and it's sat ever since. She has just purchased her 2006 Firearms license and her doe permit. I have been telling her about afternoons in the duck blind, and she can not wait to get out there. I quess I am just lucky. I told her she should go with me sometime and take the video camera to try and video the hunt. She started to get into trying to video whenever she could. She really likes to go now, and she's going to take the hunter's safety course this year, get her FOID card, and be in the woods with a gun this fall...after we get married in September. Other than my brother, my dad, and any future kids I have, I now have the best hunting partner I could ever have. She realized early on in the relationship that she would probably need to go hunting with me so she could spend more time with me. As soon as she got out there and saw the animals and stuff she was hooked. Later that year she took her hunting course and began hunting with me. She hasn't shot one yet, but we have seen many deer in her two years. This year she is going to take up bowhunting as well. I can't wait. Got my wife started by taking her a few times then buying her a rifle of her own and offering to get her out. Now she goes some with the rifle every year. What really got her hooked though was putting her in one of my best stands just at the right time when she got to watch a really nice buck chasing two does in circles all around her for a good while one morning.
