Guest lucky_erickson
I currently have a Remington 700 Sendero 7mm RUM and put a muzzle brake on it and I have had nothing but trouble with it since, I even had another brake put on. I was thinking about trying a new barrel. And maybe try a different caliber. I liked my 7mm RUM, maybe I should just try a new 28" barrel and put the old one in the closet. I already have 500 rounds through it. Any recomendations?
AJ
Re: Barrel replacement Use it as a tomato stake. They are also good for pounding in tent stakes. Since its a Sendaro, they work very well for paper weights. Sounds like its time for a rebarrel to me.

Idaho_ Elk_ Huntr
Re: Barrel replacement I have a 7mm Ultra mag that I need to rebarrel also. I dont know how it shoots because it hasnt been shot. I was thinking about ordering a 30 or 338 28 inch barrel from HS Precision. I was promised I would get the same barrel that they Guarantee on their rifle to ½ moa or 1 moa on the

AJ
Re: Barrel replacement I have had a couple rifles rebarreled by Pac-Nor Barreling. They have a large selection of reamers and do great work. They did my long range varminter (6mm-06 Improved) and my long range big game gun (300 Weatherby). A stainless super match, flured, lapped, and installed on my action was about $500. I only had them do the barrel work on both guns. I did the stock work (bedding custom stocks). Idaho_ Elk_ Huntr
Re: Barrel replacement AJ, what was the turn around time on your big game rifle?
AJ
Re: Barrel replacement One took 2.5 months and the other took around 1.5 months. Definately not bad at all. I sent them a trued action and they sent me back a barreled action. I also sent them a custom recoil lug that I wanted to use and its not a problem. They will also throat your chamber to your ammo if you want. If you want a super accurate custom rig they will chamber with a tight neck too. Of course you can't use factory ammo then, you have to turn the necks and reload. Chris Dichter will take care of you.
