Shaun_300
Re: Big Spending Hunters Nope, not nearly that much! Just some clothing this year. Last year I got a new $1000 rifle, plus a case, shells, etc etc. This year now I gotta get a nice scope for it! I do tend to spend a lot of money on my car though. Being 19 years old and being a mechanic, modifying your car is normal. For example the $750 stereo system I just installed.

johnf
Re: Big Spending Hunters I'm a cheap son-of-a-gun and buy everything on sale at the end of the season. I did splurge on pair of insulated waterproof bibbers. they were on sale though. I ususally spend about $200 a year. This year it will be about $500 including my deer mount. tedicast
Re: Big Spending Hunters [ QUOTE ] Do you guys spend $1638 per year on hunting related purchases and activities? [/ QUOTE ] In the last year, I'm sure I spent more then that. New bow, and all the goodies. 3 barrels and scopes for the Encore. Some misc. hunting clothing, gas, tags, 1 mount. Yup, definately over $1638 this past year. Do I spend that much every year? No, but there always seems to be something I want(need). Hunting stuff ddeinately adds up in price a lot quicker now then it used to.

Smitteken
Re: Big Spending Hunters I just did some rough calcs I figure I spent atleast 500 on clothes, bow maintenance, arrows, and other equipment. But I'm willing to bet the grand total was closer to 800. But this is by far the most I've ever spent in preparation for the season. Next year will be worse. I'm planning on buying a new bow to start things off. I think I'm gonna budget about 1000 for the new setup. OUCH!
rifleman25
Re: Big Spending Hunters I can come close to that in just tags and application fees most years. Although I am unlucky in alot of draws and get some back, not to mention gas, diesel, horses, feed, taxidermist, scouting trips, and countless phone call to different folks in the area I hunt. Looking at it this way I should just hunt my back yard, but what fun would that be
