My favorite set was a piece of 6" stove under a bridge. Build it up so enough water covers the trap and anchor it with a brick. Do not use a lot of wire so they can climb back in the pipe after they are caught. Just enough to lay the trap inside the pipe. The rat will try to make a run for then cannot get back in the pipe.

Every mink and muskrat that goes under that bridge will go though the pipe. I guarantee it! They seem drawn to it out of curiousity. It was my favorite and most productive set. I had one under every bridge in town.
