maytom Posted January 5, 2006 Report Share Posted January 5, 2006 We can and have been able to hunt on Sunday's here in NY for quite some time now, and frankly, I can't see why other states still don't allow it? It's the same in PA as well, NO sunday hunting allowed? The Joe working man works all week long and has the weekends off, BUT, if he wants to hunt, it can only be on Saturday????? What a stupid law!!! So instead of taking vacations with his family, the people who aren't allowed to hunt on Sundays are forced to "USE" up their precious vacation just to get in a few more days to hunt during the season???? I'd say that would be something every hunting organization in the state should consider their main political concern, till it is changed. That's not fair to most working men/women. I can see why some people might not want to have hunting on Sunday because of it being a day of rest, but I do work on Sundays so........ The whole purpose behind the no sunday hunting laws goes all the way back to when there was no working on the sabbath.......hunting was concidered work back then, hense you couldn't do it.
