stevebeilgard
Re: brokeback mountain jay leno renamed the movie "city lickers". lol. a sick and wrong movie, which of course, hollywood will not only love, but honor. you just watch... it will get an academy award. and, it's the lowest grossing movie of the year. then compare that with the fact that mel gibsons huge grossing "passion of the christ" never got a thing at awards time. hollywood is just pure evil. johnf
Re: brokeback mountain I don't think hollywood is nessisarilly evil, but I do think they have been "given up to thier vile affections" and are blind to the truth. One small comment though...............Don't be so closed minded that you deny the fact that homo-sexuality existed during this time. It's been around since the "caveman"...........only difference is that now it's openly discussed. JJL

buckee
Re: brokeback mountain It's amazing how things have changed in just 50 years. You can see it all coming together though. It won't be long now, when Christians will be killed for what they believe, all around the world, and the killers will think they are doing God a good service. johnf
Re: brokeback mountain You know it's kind of funny the way this thing has slipped into "normalcy" here in the passed 25 years or so. You older guys (35+) like me probibly remember a comedy called "Soap". In it, Billy Krystal (sp?) was the first openly gay character on tv. You never saw him sleeping with, kissing or holding hands with another man. As a matter of fact, I don't think it ever even showed him with a male partner, or even gave the name of one. Nor did he really act gay, feminine or otherwise. That show was almost thrown off the air for the simple fact that he was openly gay. They fought for the character to remain on the show, and he stayed. It didn't seem like a deal then to me, because it never showed anything. It was, however, one of the first steps toward what we are seeing today in the reality shows where men are openly kissing and fondling each other on national tv. The only logical step was to put out this abomination of a movie. This is the direction that our contry is taking until those with values stand up and call BS on it and put a stop to it. ksbowhntr77
Re: brokeback mountain I'll tell ya, coming from a small town steeped in certain things that you DONT do and working as a cowboy for a while, this movie is not going to do well. Don't care to see it and won't. Letterman got a few kicks in on the movie the other night. To be honest with you, I really don't think that kinda stuff would have went too well on a cattle drive. They would have shot the guy making the advance and left'em for the critters. To the directors of the movie, COWBOY UP! Seriously!!!! Guest 9point
Re: brokeback mountain I think it should be (DELETED). Sounds like it would fit the movie better. ps dont think ill see it. Sarcastic, "clever" names for this movie really are not appropriate. For the most part, this has been a civilized discussion about a controversial movie and I would like to see it stay that way. SaskMan
Re: brokeback mountain People have the choice to watch what they watch. I for one have no plans to see it but my wife would like to. She can go with here friends. However I'd rather watch it than some unrealistic crap movie that is huge these days, such as Underworld. okbowman
Re: brokeback mountain Sorry markyj987, I should not have made that post. I am just sick of Hollywood trying to tell us that life is just that way. That activity is not normal! It will never be. There is no way for them to preserve the human species, therefore it cannot be natural! Every species has the ability to continue to produce offspring, because there is a male and a female and it takes the two to bring about offspring. Homosexual activity is not normal, nor is it natural!

A lot of Hollywood is a buch of uneducated Godless people who happen to be good entertainers. Being a good entertainer does not make you smart, nor does it make you a moral athourity. They should stick to their craft and keep their opinions to themselves.

markyj987
Re: brokeback mountain Johnf...the comment I'm talking about? No. What I removed were some blatant vulgarities and (less seriously) two "spoof" names for the movie that were inappropriate. These were posts from last night and edited early this AM. okbowman, no need to apologize but this type of thread can get very volatile so I can assure you it's being closely monitored.
