Re: Fire Wood

I have the entire mountain to get wood from, but that won't be until spring.......I'll have a splitter by then (using an axe now).

Being that I bought the house so late in the year I'm stuck buying wood or oil until spring. Just got 3 truck loads (cord and a half) for $60.

You got a deal. Cord around here goes for $150 or so.

Personally, I'm lucky to have a buddy like ohiobucks and a landowner friend that could care less if you cut up trees that fall over onto his fields. So far this year I've cut a cord of wood or so to offset the cost of my fuel oil. We just got filled up the other day for $2.19 a gallon, total of almost $400 for the whole delivery. crazy.gif

Re: Fire Wood

I have paid over 800 dollars since Nov. 1st!!! For natural gas......I can get a cord of wood delivered for around 95 bucks: That is cut/split/dried...however I don't have an indoor or outdoor wood burner.YET! Wood does leave behind some soot: (Or so I am told by my mother who is upset over soot in the living room)...to me, I feel as though take what Mother Nature gives you, take the wood heat...

A little work, saves a lot of $'s!
