JPGS22
I was looking at a nice savage .17 at a local gun shop and before I buy it I was wondering what you all thought about the gun? I would probably use it for fox, coyote that kind of thing. Let me know. Thanks.
AJ
Re: .17 hmr Its a decent cartridge. For coyotes I would keep it under 100 yards and you must make vital area shots. With smaller critters like squirrels it will take their heads off. I just put another scope on my .17 HMR. I plan to use it for spring turkeys here in VA since we can use rifles. LETMGROW
Re: .17 hmr I have a Savage .17 which I consider a pretty good little shooter. It was on sale a couple years ago for 139.95. Good buy. I shot a woodchuck at 93 yards and he went flat instantly. This was ranged with a rangefinder not Bull yardage. My only complaint with the gun itself is the magazine is a bit tricky to get properly into place. It takes some practice, especially if you are in a hurry. Good shooter, NOT an elephant gun.
