Hoyt03
I decided on the Omega 50 cal realtree/Stainless with the thumbhole stock, just loved the feel. now I need to learn how to shoot the thing. I would appreciate any info on what supplies everyone uses on these guns meaning what kinda of bullets how much powder and anything else that has given you success. I'm gonna sit down later and read the manual before messing with it, but always appreciate the help from you guys on this board. Thanks for your help in advance
EIGHTPOINT
Re: Finally picked up my new Omega today..but now? Congrats on the new Omega. I have the Encore as well as 3 of my hunting buddies. One fella has the Omega as well and all except 1 of us including the Omega shoot 120 gr. T7 and 250 Barnes Expanders. While all guns are different and 1 Encore in our group did not like this reciept you could expect to shoot 1"- 1 1/2"maximum or better at 100 yards as we are doing. rockefeller66
Re: Finally picked up my new Omega today..but now? we have the encore and use 2 50 grain 777 pyrodex pellets with 295 copper plated hollow points abots. when sighting in the gun after every shot take a patch and spit on it and run it trough the barrel then run a dry patch through. After about 5 or so shots then remove the breach plug and clean it real well. It sounds like busy work but it is real easy to do. Good luck! AJ
Re: Finally picked up my new Omega today..but now? You are on the right track. Read the manual first. check out Bluelk's Muzzleloading chapters. Then come back and ask specific questions.

Got all the supplies today and went to the range. the Omega shoots absolutely awesome. I just shot the open sights for now but plan on adding a scope. What types of scopes do you guys have on your black powder guns?
