HarvDog
I went to a local gun show today and handled several different handguns including Glock, Sig, Springfield, S&W, Kimber, Para, and Kahr. I really liked the Springfield XD9.
muggs
Re: Springfield XD9 those guns are sweet, if I ever buy a handgun, that's the one I'd get.
HarvDog
Re: Springfield XD9 Two vendors had a couple XD9s there with 3 mags and the plastic holster for between $440 - $450. Is that a fairly reasonable price?
muggs
Re: Springfield XD9 that seems to be pretty good. I know they're not that expensive, and gun shows usually have unbeatable prices. That being said, I'm not that knowledge on handguns (or much of anything ) so I'm sure handgunner would be a better source for feedback. Guest ronin
Re: Springfield XD9 Gun Tests gave the XD a best buy rating. They particularly like the gun with the .45 GAP round. www.gun-tests.com

Guest Clay008
Re: Springfield XD9 I really liked the look and feel of the XD9. Maybe Blue Ridge or Shooters Paradise has one you can rent and shoot at the store. I know they sometimes have pistols you can rent and shoot there. Then you might be able to get a feel for how it shoots.

[/ QUOTE ] Yep...he said it was very easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble. I also checked the instruction manual on their website and it's very simply to the Glock. Guest Clay008
Re: Springfield XD9 I was thinking today, you know the XD9 is a nice pistol but, as you know the 1911 Kimber Warrior is going to be the ultimate pistol. You don't even need to shoot anybody with it. As soon as you pull it out the bad guys are going to respect the .45 and call the cops on themselves. WaCoyote
Re: Springfield XD9 I think they go well under $500.00. Saw an XD today for about $450.00 but I didn't look what cal it was. I may be wrong though. There are a lot of poly's that go around $450.00. Hunting??? Hunting what?? Deer - Moose - rabbits? The calibers available in the XD's may not even be legal in your state you should check that first. I would have to believe that with a close shot maybe 50 yds or less, that 40 S&W, 45 GAP, 45 ACP would all be very deadly on deer. Just as long as you can shoot and you use good ammo. Not sure I'd advise it but I think with the loads available today that they'd do very well.

Guest Xen
Re: Springfield XD9 i have shot the xd's, i really like them. the 9, 40, and 45 are all nice shooting. had a big day trying out pistols myself. shot the xds and some springfield 1911s, sig 226, 229, 2009, 2340, mosquito, steyr m40, m9, s9, glock 17 and 22... the end results were that i liked the feel of the sig 229 the best, but shot the best group with the steyr m40 just a side note, the 2009 and 2340 are the sig pros. didn't like them near as much as the 226. (2009 = 9mm, 2340 = .357/40) one thing that I did like, was the sig 357 ammo

slugshooter
Re: Springfield XD9 I've had my XD9 for about 3 years now. I got it for about $420 here in town, which was cheaper than at the gun show that comes to town. It is a cinch to clean and to disassemble. The only problem I had was that the extractor broke on it last year after only 500 rounds or so, which, according to them and all the reports I read is not supposed to happen, BUT, it could have been just one of them deals that happens. I sent it in to them, they replaced the broken extractor all in about a weeks time.
