Did something I didn't want to

And I feel bad about it so no one get on my case. I went out squirrel hunting with the .22 yesterday, in hopes of getting on the board in the contest. I saw a grey squirrel but missed. I was standing there waiting and turned to my right to see a squirrel hop into a hemlock. Because it wasn't close and due to the sun, it was sillouetted, it looked like a grey. I shot twice and it fell to the ground. I heard a grey squirrel start barking so I went to find it, never did. I returned to find I did not shoot a grey but a red squirrel and it was still alive. I quickly finished it off and figured I try to salvage it because I do not want to waste one of God's creatures I did not intend to kill. Well After a shot in the hind legs and one in the head, there was nothing to really salvage. I did the proper thing though and buried it and said a prayer. I feel so bad I did that but I learned don't shoot any squirrels unless I am 100% sure it is a grey. You would think me, having been hunting for 8 going on 9 years, I wouldn't make such a mistake, ugh confused.gif

Yea but if she really didnt want to kill it... dont kill yourself over it, it was an honest mistake. And there is plenty of people who feel bad after killing any animal.
