MUDRUNNER
Re: slug guns I've been using a Winchester 1300 with a rifled barrel for about 12 years now.I'm thinking about shopping around for a new slug gun for next year that I can put a scope on and use it just for slugs.Sometime I'll change my barrel on my 1300 4 or 5 times in a season, and it would be a pain to put a scope on and take it off that many times. jgbennett6
Re: slug guns a 1974 Rem 1100 that my grandfather left me when he passed. I use it because everytime i take it, i take him with me and eh loves the woods. It has a hastings rifled barrel witha simmons pro-diamond 2x scope, I have taken deer well over 100 yards with it on numerous occasions. WNY_Whitetailer
Re: slug guns [ QUOTE ] H&R NEF Ultra Slug 12 gauge [/ QUOTE ] Ditto that... My backup is a Rem 870 with a Hastings fully rifled cantilever scope mount barrel... I mounted Bushnell Trophy 1.75-4x32 scopes on both sluggers...Pretty potent setup... AJ
Re: slug guns I too would recommend the Ultra Slug Hunter. Its definately the best bang for the buck. LOL! It's very hard to beat for accuracy and for the money, it can't be beat.
MUDRUNNER
Re: slug guns Hey AJ, Ive seen the the H&R turkey gun in camo.Do they make the Ultra Slug Hunter in camo?I've never seen one,but I would think it would be a pretty popular piece. My next slug gun I want in camo, but mossberg seems to be the only one that makes a camo slugger.
tedicast
Re: slug guns Remington 870 Express, smooth bore, open sights. Remington 870 Mag, Cantilever barrel, reilfed choke, Bushnell 1.75x5. Thompson Centor Encore, Fully rifled, Leupold Vari-X II, 2x7x32 The smoothbore 870 has more kills then the other 2 combined. [/ QUOTE ] Nope they sure don't. But its nothing a can of Krylon will not fix. It is a lot cheaper than the dip, and just between you and me, just as effective. RangerClay
Re: slug guns I have a Remington 1100 with an imp. cyl. barrel on it and a red dot scope. I shoot the magnum Brenneke slugs and it patterns great. I wouldn't try the cheaper Brenneke KO's but get the original magnum slugs. They are made for a smoothbore shotgun. Proof is in the pudding
