I feel as disappointed and a kid who has just been told x-mas is cancelled. As mad about being at work, as.....well......someone who is missing opening day! This morning is absolutely beautiful too. (Of coarse) Super heavy frost which almost looks like it snowed, no wind and 18*F. The rut is in full swing and 2 of my "buddies" are hunting on my property. I a really bummed.... The thing that really upsets me is I know form past years that if you do not get a buck in the 1st weekend, then hang it up. The bordering properties get sooo much pressure that it actually effects mine negatively. You would think the deer would be on mine as a refuge, but for some reason they are not. We have a swamp near by and another beaver pond area where NO ONE can hunt and they go there and STAY there. I hate missing one of the best days to be out there. AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im usually out a ton and have only been out a couple of times this year and for very short periods at a time. Work, work, and work some more.
