StillLearnin
Okay I have lights wired to my camper shell. 2 pointing outside and two on the inside. both are wired to a switch panel on the inside of the shell. the outside lights work without problem. the inside lights however need help. One of the lights work but the other does not. The one that works is wired through a switch directly from the batery and to the the metal on the truck for a ground but that does not seem to work for the other light. any help would be appreciated. Shaun_300
Re: I Need Electrical Help It sounds to me that your circuit is being completed through the ground between the first and second light. (second light being the one that is not working) You need power going through the second light for it to work. Are you grounding it before or after the second light? if its before, then the circuit is being completed before your second light therefore causing it not to light up. If you're grounding it after the second light the only way its not lighting up is a blown bulb.
StillLearnin
Re: I Need Electrical Help I do have it grounded before the second light so I guess I'd better go take a second look at it. And yes I did check to see if the bulb was burnt and it wasn't. Thanks for the help.
KirkV
Re: I Need Electrical Help If you have a 12vdc voltmeter or a 12 test light see if your second light has 12vdc at the bulb prong while you are touching the other test lead to a good ground. If you do not then the wire is either loose or broken somewhere before it gets to the second bulb. If you do have 12vdc at the bulb connector then you either have a bad ground off of the second bulb or a faulty light bulb holder! There see how easy that was LOL , Good luck
