VTbowman
Just wondering what you folks use to prime your Encore 209x50s with? Thanks
AJ
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? Fingers work great for me. The Encore is pretty easy to prime. Since I went to Cecil's .25 ACP breech plug its even easier.
tedicast
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? At the range, I just use my fingers. During ml'er season, when it is ussually cold, and snowy I use the T.C. #7760, 209x50 Encore Priming Tool. Works perfectly for me. I carry my extra primers in a TC #7808 bog Bone 209 primer tool. This will not work with the Encore for priming, but it is a good way to keep extra primers handy. I bought both of these at Walmart, and they were well under $10 each. John- Thanks for the info, I almost bought the dog bone at Dicks during lunch but it just did not look like it would work. Glad I held off. I did not see the other style there but will look for it. Thanks!
tedicast
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? The dog bone doesn't work with the Encore, but it is a great way to carry extra primers, and not having them rattling around.
AJ
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? GrnMntMan, Sure, here is a link to Precision Rifle. I like the TC Quick Shot Speedloaders. They hold the premeasured powder and sabot and the top holds a 209 or the .25 ACP case ready to use. It's an entire load in one easy package. VTbowman
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? Hmmm thats interesting about the 209 having to much power... I assume this conversion is for those reloaders who can re-prime the .25 cart.? Something to look into.
AJ
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? Yep, you an get a 1/16" punch to remove the spent primer and one of the best tools for re-priming is the Lee Auto Prime. You will also need a Lee #15 shell holder for the 25 ACP case. I have a few of these on my reloading bench as I use them for most of my metallic reloading.
VTbowman
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? Definately something to look into... However the price tag for this is starting to build.. LOL Looking at $60 for a new breech plug 1st off, then ordering a bunch of .25 cases and bunch of primers that are not on the shelf locally, and now these nifty re-priming tools. Yikes I am upwards to around $80 to $90! If it were my ONLY Encore pistol I would be on it. I think the 209s will have to do for a while. More important things to buy, like another scope, some shooting bags or adjustable rest even. But I will file this away under, "I want it.." LOL Thanks guys! too_pointer
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? You probably wouldn't need alot of empty cases as you can reload them many times. If it will effect how your accuracy and cleaning does on your gun that drastically, it would be certainly worth it. You could buy it for me, and I will let you know if it is worth it too_

LOL Like anything else, once the initial purchase is made the pain of that looses its edge once the benifits start showing. Improved accuracy AND easier cleaning is something to think about harder. str8shooter48
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? Fingers always worked for me. Besides there's no chance of leaving your fingers in the accessory box back in the truck
VTbowman
Re: Which priming tool for an Encore 209x50? Yep fingers work well. I shot mine a few days ago and saw how easy it really is. However hunting with gloves on is another story. Thanks for everyones opinions...!!!
