I found this step by step process hear once but can not find it again. who knows it might have been from bleunks muzzle loading notes. AJ Posted January 15, 2006 Report Share Posted January 15, 2006 Re: Breaking in the Barrel While I would not lap a muzzleloader barrel unless it just plain old would not shoot, I would never lap a rifle barrel that way. If you want to lap a rifle barrel you need to fire lap it. I don't break in a barrel at all. I clean it and shoot it.
