pamanagement
Got a winchest model 70 325 wsm for christmas and now would like to put a scope on it. Im going to use the gun to deer hunt when I long trajectory is needed and to hunt other big game when the time comes. A long range scope is needed. I pland to spend around five hundred but a little more can be spent if needed. Any suggestions on the power and types that I should investigate. Guest hookedonhunting
Re: 325 wsm it depends if u will still be hunting in the woods. if u hunt in the woods some i would go with the 4.5-14x50 or just for really long range and very little or no woods hunting i would go with 6.5-20x50. but when going with a long range scope they dont quite gather as much light so definately go with at least 50mm lenses. i like leupold for the money. and also burris a pretty good scope. WaCoyote
Re: 325 wsm I wouldn't go any larger than a 4.5 X 14. I'd go with ronin's pick or the Burris 4.5 X 14 with the B-plex reticle. (similar to the Boone & Crocket). I've got the 4.5 X 14 for coyotes and love it. 6X24's are too hard to use on hurried shots since the field of view is so small. I wouldn't want any part of one for deer hunting. Plus they're heavy. I'd like to try that 325 wsm. Sounds very interesting.
