My money goes to the conservation groups, PFE, NWTF,DU,QU,NRGS. id rather see my money go to the animals than to pad the pockets of a couple more lobbiest's, who in my opinion will "lobby" for whoever gives them the most money. [/ QUOTE ] There is nothing wrong with joinning the NRA, or them other groups! NRA is there just to protect your guns! Also the people who use them! Aaron, what is your hatetred with the NRA??? They protect the same guns your party is trying to take away! They also love the hunters just as much the gun only people. Yeah they lobby in Washington DC, thats what my dues are for, for them to lobby for me!!! So I guess if Handgun Control Inc. would give them all the money the NRA ever wanted, the NRA would turn their back on us???? I DONT THINK SO!!!!!!!! To me they are no better than a politician, i dont trust politicians and i dont trust the NRA. They may protect my rights to own firearms, and i thank them for that, i dont think you fix a lie with a lie ( one of the reasons i didnt vote for kerry) One example. The NRA puts out an add that says real hunters wear safty glasses and a picture of kerry shooting with no glasses, but ive seen several pictures of bush released by the nra with him shooting without glasses. The more and more i look at the way i feel about things i realize I'm more and more conservitive everyday, I love to hunt and fish and such. I just dont like the NRA and i dont like the way they operate. If you choose to be a member that is fine with me its your money and i dont doubt you believe it to be well spent. I have no problem with that, to each his own. The liberal people that want to take away our guns use lies and mis-immformation. i dont think two wrongs will make things right. If that day ever comes, and guns do get banned. Because you can never say, "They will never ban guns"! Look what they are doing over in Great Britan. There banning guns and now they just told the hunters over there that they are not allowed any more FOX HUNTING!!! They been doing this for almost a hundred years! NOT NO MORE!!! Yeah maybe they do things just like a politician, so what! At least they are on my side, as far as protecting my guns and right to hunt! Which is just fine with me! Like you said too, its my money. But then who else is going to fight every gun grabbing, anit-hunting politician, namely democrats! DU and some of the other organizations you mentioned just do not have the political clout like the NRA does. I mean I am quite sure somehow they all interact with each other. Everytime you pull that trigger you can not help to say thanks to the NRA! Because I feel if it weren't for the NRA today, we would be just like Great britan, and all the other countries that outlawed GUNS! And if thats not bad enough, their are groups now that want to ban fishing!!! A ban on a specific type of weapon is not a ban on all of them and is not leading to an outright ban on all of them, maybe people are just paranoid or something, read too much into things, yes, there are many people that want an outright ban on all guns in this country, but they are in the minority. I'm pretty sure that probably not even a penny of every dollar goes to actual efforts. It mostly ends up paying people like Wayne LaPierre. They should change their ads to: "OMG!! CHRISTMAS IS COMING AND WE NEED MONEY TO GIVE WAYNE LAPIERRE HIS BIG FAT BONUS CHECK!!! SEND US $30 OR WE WON'T BE ABLE TO PAY HIM AND GIVE HIM A HUGE RAISE NEXT YEAR.
