Re: NASCAR is ruining \"NASCAR\"

They will do the same thing they did when Dodge got back into the mix. Hire a bunch of struggling teams to run your Toyota and NASCAR gives them a break on the rules and the Aerodynamics package and voila'. You have integrated a foreign car maker into the blender.

I agree......The American economy is bad enough, keep the money in America....get Toyota and all other foreign junk out of here.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry...but its AMERICAN car companies that are doing this. They want us to buy American...but they are the ones who are mixing the two together to try and earn an extra buck!

examples...Ford Ranger and Mazda trucks...Chevy Avalanche and Honda Ridgeline. They are the same things. Another example...bought my wife an '04 Pontiac Vibe...Pontiac = GM right? Wrong...GM car with Toyota engine, interior etc...its a Toyota with a GM body!

Foreign "junk" is here to stay...like it or not!

Can anyone tell me what is a mass-produced American made car anymore? Let's say 90% American?

[/ QUOTE ]....yup.....my dodge dakota, made AND assembled in warren,michigan....dodge durango is made 2 miles from here......made by americans for americans.....and i know american cars & trucks are way over priced, but im so tired of hearing about how the "jap trucks" are built here in the states, & i know they are, but where do the profit's go????do you think it stays here???no!!!...it goes oversea's to line some jap's pocket!!! don't think they are'nt laughing all the way to the bank, they are.........thats my take & i don't mean to offend....i still like jimmy spencer's quote......"did'nt we bomb them???".......but with nascar doing this, & bringing in this c.o.t....i'll be done with it soon....

Re: NASCAR is ruining \"NASCAR\"

This thread has gone downhill from the first post. First off, just because NASCAR was formed in America doesn't mean it is exclusively an American sport. Baseball started in America, so did football and basketball. Those sports are fully integrated and they are probably the better for it. So what if Toyota is entering the NEXTEL Cup, it's a free market isn't it? If they can compete, so be it, they have every right to be there as any other car manufacturer.

As far as where vehicles are made, my Ford Ranger was assembled in Kansas City, the engine was built in Canada. There is a Honda plant and a BMW plant in South Carolina, there are Ford and Chevy plants in other countries. What does anyone care if someone in Japan makes money in NASCAR?

There are worse things in the world than Toyota entering NEXTEL Cup. Like I said, if they can compete, more power to them. Good luck to Michael Waltrip and the new teams who will be running Camry's in '07.

Re: NASCAR is ruining \"NASCAR\"

It's 4 inches wider 2inches taller supposed to be safer

and other changes, I'm a big fan.

I know I will not be going anywhere

RCR thinks it will be alright ,people will just have to adjust not seeing chevy or ford ,dodge name out there

no they are not stock, and I wonder will they be built at the racing shops or will they come out of one facility

Well, the main purpose of the thread was to complain about Toyota entering NEXTEL Cup, for those who wish to complain about it. Then it seemed to have taken a turn talking about the "Car of Tomorrow" that NASCAR has designed. I haven't read too much about it, seen pics mostly. From what it seems to me, the body design will be consistent no matter what engine you put under the hood, the design is also a little boxier, which, according to Brian France, will make the racing better because a lot of veterans have told him that the racing was better back in the 70's-80's when the cars were boxier. Only time will tell. Personally, I don't have a problem with Toyota entering NEXTEL Cup, but I don't really like the looks of the "Car of Tomorrow", looks kinda stupid if you ask me.
