[ QUOTE ]

Ive been a Steelers fan since 1992, I can recall players off the top of my head that most wont rember. I consider myself a TRUE Steelers fan. Now I must admit, I find it funny figureing I live in Indiana that a Colts fan is the first fan to start calling Steeler Fans bandwagon fans. While we all know there will be alot, Id first of all say that there is more Steelers fans than any other fans. I know this is true, I cant go anywhere and not see something Steeler related. This summer around early August my buddy and I drove down to Orlando to pick up my pregnant girlfriend who was on vaction with family. And at the time I drove a black 02 Monte Carlo SS, and had a big Steelers sticker in the back window. In every state we stopped I found Steeler fans. And this is before Sept. In Madison IN I dont know the guys name, but I saw this Harley sitting outside of Goodys clothing store of all places, it was decked, black and gold all over it Steeler flag off the back seat, the roman numberals for the Super Bowl wins and only one logo on one side of the tank. I went in the store found the guy and shook his hand. Now lets talk about those Colts. Maybe your not maybe you've been a Colts fan since the days of Jeff George and Andre Rison. If so more power to you. But do you know the number of Colts fans I find that "Cant REmber" who the head coach was or starting QB when the Colts lost the AFC Championship in 1995, by the way to the PITTSBURGH STEELERS!!! And no Im not going to say who they are but I do know. I can also tell you there was 2 former Louisville Cardinals on that Colts team. It really bugs me that suddenly the Colts have all this talent and all kind of people are die hard Colts fans and have been for years. Now I do have a buddy, who is a die hard Bengals fan and has been forever. Im glad they won the division this year and finally gave him something in return for the beatings, and heart ache's he's suffered for following his team. But that my friend is a true fan.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I remember Jeff George. When he first came over from Illinois I thought he was gonna put us in the S.B. But 1-15 doesnt really do the job...And Im still getting over 95. Jim 'Captain Comeback' Harbough was $ during the whole playoffs and I can still remember the hail mary going off of Aaron Bailey's finger tips and not saying a word the rest of the day. I have several friends who have went from team to team just to stick to the Steelers these last 2 weeks and give me a bunch of crap about my Colts. Then I end up asking them to name 5 players on the Steelers and I get the last laugh when I end up naming 20 more Steelers than they can.

Who can forget that 95 AFC Title game? The day Stewart was allowed to run out of the back of the endzone and then come back in and catch a TD and not be flagged. Im not sure which was worse, the INT overturn last week or the no call in the 95 game.

[/ QUOTE ]

What no call? The NFL even came out and said that Stewart was pushed out of bounds (No illegal contact back then), so he was allowed to come back inbounds as an eligable receiver.........you really need to get over it.

I was born in 1975 and I've been a fan of the Steelers ever since.

Re: WE FINALLY DID IT NOW CAN I GET SOME LOVE FOR

I went to my first steelers game in 1953. Suffered through a lot of bad years with QBs on the caliber of Kent Nix. This year's team has the potential to be as good as the 1970s teams - but today's market where players jump ship will probably prevent it.

Stewart was not pushed out of bounds. He stepped out not just once, but twice. Stewart even admitted in post game interviews that he "stepped" out of bounds and got away with it. He never said a thing about being pushed. As for the NFl, what do you expect them to say? "Were sorry but we made the wrong call and sent the wrong team to the superbowl"?? Get real. The NFL only admits mistakes when it it's not going to change the outcome of the game. Had Indy went on to win the game last week, the NFL would have said it was the right call.

I hope you didn't watch PTI tonight........They were saying how Ben Roethlisberger has serplanted Peyton as THE QB in the league because he's been able to get his team to the big games in his first 2 seasons.

If Peyton had the D in 98 he'd have done the same thing.

Reporters can say what they want. They dont know anymore then you and I do, there job is start to argumentative debates to sell tv shows and newspapers.

Manning had a near perfect QB rating versus the blitz this season. To say he doesnt get it done with pressure in his face is false. There is a difference between pressure and having a guy on top of you before you can even get to a 3 step drop, which happened frequently the last quarter of the year for Indy. I dont care how tough Manning comes across as, all i know is he is healthy for the entire season and i will take that . Speaking of Brett Farve, Manning is second behind him for consecutive number of games started.

Exactly. To blame the playoff loss on Manning's lack of manueverability is insane. A healthy Michael Vick couldnt have avoided the sacks Manning was taking. The avg. time he had to get rid of the ball was like 1.7 sec. That made it easy for the secondary to come on on him because he couldnt make anything happen down field. When your getting bull rushed and you have an O'line who isnt on the same page, its really hard to sell the play action. And thats the bread and butter of the Colts O. 13 rushes from the edge didnt help much to make the PA look convincing either.

Yes Manning does get the things done with pressure in his face, but the pressure this season isn't the same pressure like the playoffs. I think we should trade Manning and pick up a Young QB, free up some money. For the second time the colts are over the salary cap. Trade Edge and Manning, try and get a young speedy QB and work up.

I dont think Manning will get it done for us in the

playoffs ever. Mark those words, ever.

As everyone knows a QB is the defining player of a offense, a Running back we can work with in the future years and probably can make Mungro into a heck of a running back, but trade Manning and Edge, pick up a Young QB and a build up Mungro at running back. Keep our defense in tact. Try it next year.

I know I'm blowing smoke up my own butt, because everyone knows we will keep Manning, so I'll stop typing now.

Polian will be hunted down and killed by the city of Indianapolis if he gets rid of Peyton. Manning aint goin anywhere, you need to look at his contract. Mungro is a free agent as well as James. Both will be gone.

Im gonna make a run through of the Colts current free agents and tell you what Im predicting.

Gary Brackett- He's a r free agent, hes comin back

Raheem Brock- He will be back

Edgerrin James- Gone

Cato June- He's a gurantee along with Brackett

Mathis- He's back

Rob Morris- He gone!

James Mungro- Gone

David Thornton- He's back

Larry Triplett- Toss up

Mike Vanderjagt- Gone

Reggie Wayne- Polian has already said he'll be in a Colts uni next year.

Just some of the bigger name FA for the Colts*

We are better off with Vince Young or Lienhart than Manning.

During the game with Pittsburgh, Peyton had way more then 1.7 seconds to get rid of the ball........The Steelers DB's were just too good in coverage.

[/ QUOTE ]

That was the average time on the sacks. Sorry I didnt clarify in my previous post. DBs where good because the pressure from the LBs and DEs was so good.
