Guest Andrea
Just curious as to how many of you have ever missed a deer? I grazed one yesterday and got a lot of white belly hair and no blood. I was really mad at myself. Tracked him for a while and figured out he wasn't hurt. Thankfully. I know what I was doing wrong so this afternoon I won't make that same mistake.

Master_Chief
Re: Ever missed a deer? Missed an 8 point. Killed a 4" diameter pine tree. Gutted the tree but it didn't cook well.

[/ QUOTE ] I've grazed a few, missed a few...yeah...all of the above. My first bow buck, I will never forget, because he was a big guy, and I shot him in the brisket. The arrow was covered in Brisket fat, with a bit of blood. I had a spotty blood trail for about 200 yards before losing the trail completely. I went back for 3 days looking for that guy, but never did see him again. It still haunts me

bfletch7441
Re: Ever missed a deer? I've missed several. The only thing I've not missed with is my muzzle loader. Either the scope was off or a pin was loose, it's never been my fault!?! Ben

beagleboy
Re: Ever missed a deer? I'd be lying if I said I never did. Several nice bucks and several does over the years.
rockefeller66
Re: Ever missed a deer? with my bow when I was young and dumb I missed 2 bucks in the same night but I had no concept of distance judging, then this year I missed the same doe TWICE! I still can't believe it! This hasn't happened to me for 8 years and I didn't miss her once but twice! The second shot drew a couple drops of blood and lots of white/gray hair but I found the arrow and it looked like new, she was fine. I have also missed a few turkeys with my bow during the fall but that was also when I was yound and in experienced but now, I don't think they would stand as much of a chance! so I have missed 3 deer with my bow
Bownarow
Re: Ever missed a deer? Missed two does last year with my bow. Missed the first one b/c my 20 yard sight pin was bent down and almost touching my 30 yard pin. I shot right over it's back and couldn't figure out why until I noticed the bent pin. Second one I caught a branch and the arrow dove down and stuck in the mud right at the doe's feet.
