Guest ILclimber
Re: Ever missed a deer? Yes, I went through a stretch were I didn't miss a deer for 4 or 5 years then I have missed one the past couple of years. It's unfortunate but that happens to the best of us! doughboy1956
Re: Ever missed a deer? I missed a few but that don,t bother me. It,s the the deer i wounded and never found till the meat was spoiled. That,s the misses that i realy feel bad about There was two in over 45 years of hunting whitetail and it still bugs me to this day.
Guest deldeer
Re: Ever missed a deer? there are 2 types of hunters.....the ones that miss, & the ones that miss, and lie about it !!!!!!.........i remember one year i was bragging about how i NEVER miss...guess what??!!....i missed the next 10 deer i shot at !!!!!. did get 7 that year after those misses though, i blamed everything around me, the scope, the gun, the slugs, the wind, in the end it was just being to cocky and full of myself!!!!! unioncountyslayer
Re: Ever missed a deer? Maybe you need to practice more flatwoodhunter. But yes I have missed several deer. I have even hit deer, found great blood, and never retrieved the deer. Very frustrating, but that's hunting!
Guest deldeer
Re: Ever missed a deer? [ QUOTE ] where can I hunt and harvest 7 deer in one year? Does Delaware have a liberal deer harvest quota? [/ QUOTE ]....yes we do, when you buy your license, you get 4 doe tags, then you buy your buck tag and your allowed 2 bucks....you can keep buying your doe tags for $10, or you get crop damage tags on certain properties.....in md., you shoot 6 doe's & a buck each season, arch , mz., rifle.....then you can buy extra buck tags also....come over to delaware we got plenty!!!!! FSU_Seminole
Re: Ever missed a deer? [ QUOTE ] i have missed 3 in two years... but have also killed 2... all three misses were clean misses [/ QUOTE ] Is this a trick question? Everyone has missed before. When I was younger I use to miss so often that I'd swear it was the scope & the scope was defective. Buck fever does that to a fella. SaskMan
Re: Ever missed a deer? I've missed a few. 2 of them haunt me, they were booners for sure. One was a gimme shot with the smokepole and I simply rushed it. Man I'll relive that forever. lol

wtnhunt
Re: Ever missed a deer? What weapon? Rifle, I think missed a doe at about 175 yards, but shot her with a second shot when the group of does all stayed standing there. Have lost one with the rifle, a pretty decent 8 pointer that was hit good, that disappeared at the river, where we suspect that one of the leasees of the property behind us got to the deer before I did. Bow, I have had two clean misses, one on a really nice 8 pointer at about 30 yards when my string slapped my parka, causing just enough of a deflection to send my arrow off. Muzzleloader, have hit 2 that I never found with an old side lock carbine that I do not hunt with anymore, but never missed any with the muzzleloader.
