muggs
I guess taking 60% of your teams shots every night pays off huh? Still, in this day and age of basketball, you really have to appreciate this. I think Camberlain's 100 was not as great of an accomplishment. buckbuster11
Re: Kobe\'s historic night He's gotta do what he's gotta do. The rest of his team stinks. Its not like the other team doesnt have any idea who is going to shoot the ball everytime, and he still gets 81. Thats impressive.
VtBowhunter
Re: Kobe\'s historic night What's impressive is that he did it from all over the court. Wilt stood under the hoop and had the ball fed to him all game and just dropped it in.........plus the talent is much better then it was back then, making it more difficult. Master_Chief
Re: Kobe\'s historic night I think he is all about me. He has the titles, so how what. Can you imagine him being at 97 points some night with 15 seconds to go and his teammate shoots the ball and doesn't pass it. Instant Trade Bait. I just don't think scoring 81 today is much of a team player.
Guest Finn
Re: Kobe\'s historic night Awesome personal achievement, but I just have never liked Kobe. To me, he seems like the spoiled little kid who never looks you in the eye. That was before all the stuff happened with that girl in Colorado. He couldn't have handled that whole deal worse. Glad he basically lost all his endorsement money over it.
arrow32
Re: Kobe\'s historic night I think thats awesoem that he hit that. But taking most the shots it must be pretty easy.lol If he would of played the hole game it would of been higher.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Kobe\'s historic night yeah he took most of the shots...but he made 60% of them...thats a pretty good average for shooting 40+ shots...most people can score 30+ going some thing like 12 for 35 on the night and people say that is a good game...i think what he did was incredible...for one...his team was down by as many as 18 points....he scored 81 and they won the game...if it was a blow out by them from the begining or if they had lost the game...i don't think it would have been as great..might have been good, but not great....he may not be a "tema type player" and may take most of the shots...but his team has been winning alot of these games where he has scored 40+
SuperMn106
Re: Kobe\'s historic night i myself do not like kobe, but i have to give it to him. he did something very special. yes he took most of his teams shots but he had to to get his team back in the game. the teammates he has are not very good, so he basically has to do it almost every night by himself. Hillbilly
Re: Kobe\'s historic night I guess the other Team can't play defense. If it was my coach we would have a long night of practice giving up 80 some points to one player. Be a hard night of throwing up your guts. okbowman
Re: Kobe\'s historic night I don't like Kobe!!!!!!!!!!! That said, I played ball in High School and I think his accomplishment was awesome! It was in the context of a competitive game and his team won, remember they don't win without the contributions of the other teammates! Somebody was rebounding and assists were being passed out, and he wasn't the only one playing defense either. Is there anyone else on the Lakers who can play on the offensive end? Not Really!! If a guy has the hothand, you keep feeding him the ball. He obviously had the hot hand!! I still don't like him, but that was a phenomenal performance. Hillbilly
Re: Kobe\'s historic night hmmmm dang I'm suprised they gave up 80 on kobe. The Raptors were on a hot streak, what happened.
Guest psejake16
Re: Kobe\'s historic night Vince Carter really put the 'historic night' down in a NJ press conferance the other day. I take his side on this one. If Kobe wasnt such a jerk Nike could make him the new MJ...But regardless of stats, Kobes no MJ. Jordan actually had class. okbowman
Re: Kobe\'s historic night Yep, that's the same Vince Carter who said after he left Toronto, "some nights I didn't give a full effort", I really respect his opinion on teamwork.......NOT!
