Hey i am currently looking @ purchasing a nikon sky and earth 15*45*60 spotting scope. I will mainly be using this for out west on antelope, muleys, and elk. Is this a good scope? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Re: Nikon Spotting Scopes

I highly recommend looking at one in person. When I was shopping for a spotter scope, I picked out a few in the price range and looked at them all side by side. Crank up the magnification and look at something as far away as possible. Unless one of them are made by Zeiss, Leica, or Swarovski, the name does not mean much. Let your eye pick the best one.

Is this a 15X-45X with a 60MM lense? If so your power is correct---IMO anything over 45X with have to much Mirage (heat waves) to be much account. Another suggest is to use before you come out west. It's amazing how much eye strain there is using a spotting scope, it gives me a headache in short order----until you eye gets use to it.. CB

Re: Nikon Spotting Scopes

My brother in law has one and likes it but like already said here its aways good to check it out in person.

I do remember looking through his when he first picked it up and I remember thinking it was a really clear scope.

Good luck!
