Telemarketers and cell phones!! :(

Well guys and gals got my first telemarketer last night on my cell phone. My phone was downstairs on the counter and it went off but before I could reach it. I seen the number and didn't recognize it so I called it back, it had my area code so I thought maybe it was a family member or friend with a new number. WRONG!! It was a company trying to sell a satellite.

I asked this guy how he got my cell number, he sounded like a younger guy and said he got it on Monday as that is when cell phone numbers were given out to them. I said, "please take my number off your list and do not ever call me!" He said, "he was just trying to do his job," I said, "do not bother me at home," he said, "well if you have a better job than this I'll take it," his tone was pretty rude. At this point, I am mad, so I said, "you arrogant SOB!!" but of course I said the full word and at that point he hung up on me.

So does anyone know how I can get my cell phone number off their list? There was a number for home phones awhile back that you called and it took you off their lists and that helped us out alot, we still get an occasional call but not as much as we use to.

Any help would be appreciated. Funny thing is I already had a satellite system (DirectTV) maybe this guy needs a list with people who have them so then he might not bug them on their cell phones. smile.gif

Great... soon everyone's cell is gonna be ringing.. burning up the minutes if you answer it! That's why if I don't recognize the number on my phone, I don't pick it up. If it's important, you can leave a voicemail. Restricted calls, fuhgetaboudit.. Really easy to press *82 and unlock your number. wink.gif

Got this email just the other day...

all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies & you will start to receive sale calls....YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THSESE CALLS...To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:

888-382-1222. This is the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST. It will only take a min. of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.

HELP OTHERES BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, OR GO TO,

Re: Telemarketers and cell phones!! :(

I put my cell number on the do not call list about a month ago. I'm not holding my breath though, I've been on the do not call list for our home number since the list came out, but we still get lots of telemarketer calls every day.

If I don't recognize the number, or it comes up restricted, I don't answer, simple.

This guy was crazy anyway. I used to do this. I cant think of anything worse to do. All day long sitting inside looking at the beautiful day from your desk. Imagine 8 hours everyday getting chewed out buy people. I would never go back to a job like that no matter what they pay me.

You were a little hard on the guy. No?

Yes I did get a raise my voice with him but that was only after his tone changed when I asked him how he got my number. This guy was a "punk" so I call them like I see them!! Last night I had another one call my cell phone!! Hope this ends soon!!
