rockefeller66
Is it me or does it seem the majority of big buck pics are from either the garage or the back of the pick up? I am just one of those guys who enjoys taking time to get quality pics of my harvest.
arrow32
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... Lots of em are in the back of trucks or in the garage. Maybe they leave the camera in the truck.
Ravin R10 man
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... cant beat a great field shot..but that does take time to do it right....I do mine by the house, at least it's not in a truck..... james Vee, does an EXCELLENT job taking pics of their bucks, VERY impressed!! Nick
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... Yeah, Most of my pictures come from the truck bed or in the backyard. 95% of the time I'm hunting by myself and dont have anybody around to take any "quality" pictures. Or alot of times its too dark......Im sure them two factors are the same with most anybody else as well.
Tom2008
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... Yeah I really wish my step dad would have tooken picts of my first buck when we were in the woods. I don't know why he didn't kinda sucks. Only pic I have of it is him hangin up in the garage which really sucks. I agree with oneida man James Vee does an awsome job with his field pictures! rockefeller66
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... I have been lucky enough to take bow of my bucks in the morning and find them during the day so I could take day time pics, I guess that would make it hard to get in the woods or backyard pics

Jimfrompa
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... Yes, I forgot my camera and by the time I thought of it the Buck was in the truck. I had seen another post on this subject before and agree that seeing the buck in a more natural setting would be preferable. I just plain forgot. Something about gettin old i think. What were we talking about
HitRmisS
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... i have some of just my deer in the field but its always been too dark by the time someone else was around to take a pic of me with it, most of my pics are the deer on the 4- wheeler at camp before i hang it up
Guest buckifan21
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... I would rather see a deer in the field but if i harvested the deer, i would rather a truckbed shot rather than no shot at all. I always try to get alot of shots in the field and then a shot or 2 in the back of my truck. I dunno why i do that... i just kinda like to This post reminds me... i finally scanned the field shots of the deer i shot this year. I tried to post them but was unable. maybe tomorrow i'll try again
Smitteken
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... Lately I've been trying to take better pics. But the ones I actually post aren't great because I have to borrow my bros digital cam, and by that time I'm no longer in the woods. Also most of my hunts are evening hunts, by the time I kill one, and field dress it, its dark.
KirkV
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... I have tried to do much better the last 2 years since I joined here. I even drug my 8 pointer out of the truck and into the timber when I got back home so I could have someone take a picture of him that gave him some respect. Hello (pause) My name is Kirk and I too was a truckbed picture taker.....wimper....shame. LOL
Tominator
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... Big bucks tend to weigh a lot I think, so to drag them out of the bed, set them up pretty and take a nice field photo, then haul them back into the bed again is something that a lot of guys either never think of, or don't care to have a great field photo I guess. This past year I hauled my deer out of the bed, took pictures, and hoisted him back up, but I had the help of my weighlifter friend, otherwise I'd have probably have done the truck bed picture thing. okbowman
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... If you ever kill a state record or anything like that, you really need to take field pics, its not going in a magazine if its a pic from the back of the truck. Guest PAWhitetailhunter19
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... Yea my dad is all about pics which is cool, but sometimes holding that deers neck in the right posistion for so long, just gets me tired, especially knowing that i have to gut it and drag it out yet

JamesVee
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... That's funny, I was just reading over this thread and saw my name pop up a couple of times. I don't think the majority of big buck pictures are taken in the back of the pickup or in the garage, but I do think that there are a lot of those pictures around. And for whatever reason, those pictures in particular are always floating around on the net.
rockefeller66
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... just seems to me whenever I see those famous "World Record Buck" pics that float up every year that they always seem to be in the back of a pickup truck! I am one who enjoys the field photos!
tedicast
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... yeah....field photo's are great. I agree. but when I shoot a deer at 4pm, and have to gut it and it's a 2 to 3 hours drag out...taking a picture is about the last thing on my mind. When i have someone to help me, and it is convienent...I'm definately taking field pics.

Seems like by the time I find it and get the camera out its pitch black. Might as well take it from the truck when I get home.
Gator
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... Maybe some people don't have any other chance to take a pic other than in the back of a truck....... Where I come from, that's ALL you see, pics of deer in the bed of a truck. Guess it may depend on where your from to.
dogdoc
Re: Big bucks and truck bed pics.... hey--I like pictures in the field as much as anyone. I might go to a little extreme but I carry a small tripod in the truck with me to mount my digital camera on for taking pics. My camera has a 9 second delay option so that usually gives me plenty of time to get back in the pic. However---I don't mind seeing a pic in the back of a truck or in the garage. It doesn't take away from the quality of the hunt or the buck. todd
