Guest Mathews4
I have a 2 1/2 year old black lab....I've worked a little with him since he was a pup. I just got into waterfowling this past season and was wondering if he is to old to fully train to retrieve ducks? I'll take any advice you guys have. Guest Iambenelliguy
Re: how old is to old No I dont think so. I lab has the natural ability to be a waterfowl dog. Give it a try let us know in a month how he's doing.
double_drop
Re: how old is to old Just work with him. All it takes is a little time. I spent the first two years doing nothing but training my dog in the off season and he will be 4 this feb. and he is the best lab i have every owned. dogdoc
Re: how old is to old heck no--he's still young enough to train. I'd recommend getting a good training book. Start from scratch training the needed basic obedience to force fetch, collar conditioning. There are a lot of good books and DVDs that will give you step by step training techniques. good luck todd
