Smitteken
I was talking to a friend who's vet put his dog on a diet. Evidentally the vet told him not to give him any treats, but only green beans or carrots. He said "Yeah dogs love carrots" This made chuckle because when my pup libby begs I'm always ornery and give her a vegatable off of my plate. She always takes it, drops it, and looks at me like "Yeah right" So when I got home last night I opened the fridge to get a drink and Libby ran up to it. Just then I saw a bag of baby carrots. So I said "I gotta try this" So I made her sit and shake and gave it to her. To my surprise she liked it. Does anyone else feed your dog vegatables? Tominator
Re: Dog Treats We had a GSP when I was growing up that was queer for apple cores. We'd take a break for lunch, and Penny would sit at your feet just waiting for us to finish our apples.
snapper
Re: Dog Treats We keep carrots in the fridge just for the dogs. Capers loves it in the fall time when the acorns are falling off the trees...he gobbles down every acorn he can.
Canadian_Goose
Re: Dog Treats my dog snagged a goose breast right out from under my noose last season. That was supposed to be in the freezer.
Guest Andrea
Re: Dog Treats I am gonna have to try that. My Mom and Dad's dog won't anything BUT vegetables. She refuses to eat dog food. It's an insult to her. Her favorites are green beans and peanuts.

BowJoe
Re: Dog Treats I have a Beagle that recently lost a lot of weight. He went from 45 lbs to 31 lbs in a matter of a few months. He got sick and was just losing weight so we started buying him soft foods so he would eat more and put some weight back on.
