muggs
Tribe gets three of the top prospect in the BoSox's org. Marte, the #9 rated prospect in the world, Kelly Shoppach, a power hitting catcher, Manny Declarmen, a hard throwing reliever, and Mota, who has health issues. BoSox's get Coco, Josh Bard, a journeyman catcher, and David Riske, a decent middle reliever who seemed to have and-on-off stuff. Then the Tribe will deal Arthur Rhodes to the Phillies for Shaun Michaels. Overall, I think this is a great deal for the Tribe. Not sure what Boston thinks they're getting in Crisp, he's a decent player, but his game has a lot of holes. Getting rid of Rhodes is a great move too, he left the team's training to play a high stakes poker game (which he won), so I don't think he's hearts in it. [/ QUOTE ] Chris, they are PROSPECTS, don't think they're going to contribute much this year. And I don't think this is going to make the Tribe better this year, but if you can get this type of potential talent for a guy who calls himself Coco, I think it's a good move. But, since I like to bet for betting sake (clarifying so I don't have to listen to Tom tell me I don't know what I'm doing because I lose bets) I just might take you up on that. Let me take a look at the BoSox's roster and schedule and I'll let you know.

muggs
Re: Coco to Boston is as good as done. Looks like the Reds have entered the trade talks with a proposed Austin Kearns for Crisp deal...don't like this deal at all. Other Reds names are Clement, Willy Mo Pena (I'd love that deal), and even Aaron Dunn. This could be a three team deal with Boston getting involved as well. IMO, I think this whole thing might fell apart, seems like the Reds want to much in return for their players, and Boston might not give up that much young talent as originally thought.
