Re: My NEW Browning .270 A-Bolt

You need a silver scope to go on top of that thing.

No, wait a minute, I see why he sold it so cheap. The gun is inside out. Your Buddy must have been ticked off at that gun if he bent the bolt handle all the way to the other side. tongue.gif That's going to be hard to fix.

Re: My NEW Browning .270 A-Bolt

Just watched a full and detailed video on the Browning site Shawn,, and it explained everything about the BOSS/Muzzel Break System,, wink.gif

Man I didn't know of this feature at all,, espeacially about it being able to dial in groups with differents loads,, even from different manufactures... crazy.gifcrazy.gif

Guess, I went to school today and learned something.... Still would like to hear AJ's input tho... wink.gif

Re: My NEW Browning .270 A-Bolt

The BOSS is a decent system. It does work. Remington builds in accuracy, they don't have to add it on. LOL!

The only drawback to the BOSS is its butt ugly and its VERY LOUD! Other than that, it allows the shooter to dial the gun into the load, not dial the load to the gun. This is beneficial to those that do not handload. They can take any factory ammo and once they find the sweet spot, they can jot it down, and move to another load and find the sweet spot for it. Once you have them all dialed in, no matter where you go if you buy any ammo that you have checked out, you can dial the gun in to shoot good groups. Of course you will have to zero the scope, but at least its nice knowing you can buy Rem, Fed, Win, Hornady, or whatever and it will shoot decently for you.

The BOSS is a devise that is used to tune the barrels harmonics. Each load can be different and this contraption allows the shooter to twist the dial to a certain number and change how the barrel reacts. Basically, its is moving a weight forwards and backwards until it reaches maximum dampening for that load.

Did you get a CR with it also? I've got the same gun in a 375 H&H-----have not shot it yet so I'm no help in the BOSS dept.

By the way-----get yourself a Leupold VX-II for that Browning.

Re: My NEW Browning .270 A-Bolt

NOPE,,NO CR Bob... and as for the Leupold VX-II that will have to come at a later date,, The Tasco World Class was a gift from the wife, and I won't part with it... wink.gifwink.gif

I have to admitt tho,, a silver scope would look nicer, but for now until the funds dictate otherwise,, it's the black Tasco.. wink.gif

THANKS, John and Bob for the kind words...it actually feels kind of nice to own a weapon of high quality for a change.... cool.gifcool.gif

I disagree 1000%!!!

Keep a black matte finish scope on the bugger, especially with the black stock...

Black and stainless compliment each other nicely.

Besides, I have yet to see a "silver" scope match a stainless barrel yet.

I gotta agree with Shawn on this one Luke. I prefer the matte scope too. I bought silver rings and base for the 45/70 Encore, and emded up not using them. They didn't really match, and I just liked the way the matte black looked better.

Re: My NEW Browning .270 A-Bolt

LOL,, guess I'm out numbered on this one... wink.gif,, the wife also agree's that the black scope would look better than the silver scope,,,, and here I thought it was just because she didn't want me to spend anymore money.... grin.gifgrin.gif

Man I guess the 3 of use really got lucky on some great looking toy's,, I keep finding myself going back and looking at both of your pics,, man those weapons are sweet looking...... cool.gifwink.gif

Actually, it really does not matter what others think. Specially when they are wrong. LOL! You are the only one that has to be pleased with how it looks and performs. When others buy stuff for you, they can make the decisions.

LOL... I hate to say it AJ,, but when it comes to me, Shawn's right.. crazy.gif,, he's usually 99.9% right, and I'm usually wrong... wink.gif

But OH WELL that's why I ask alot of questions, so I don't make the big mistake.... wink.gifwink.gif,, I love to pick the brains of more knowledgable people...

I learned a long time ago to accept the opinions of people and use whats important to my advantage... wink.gifwink.gif,, everyone has something to offer, it's just a matter of siftting through the info and using the good input... smile.gif

I feel if you are going to takes someones opinion personally, don't ask the question then.. wink.gif
