Shaun_300
Some of you may have heard me talking about my best friend Dave and I making a fish shack to put on the Ottawa River, well we got it built last weekend, and put up out there this week, I finally took the camera out and snapped a picture of it for ya's! We used the door off of Dave's old shack, it doesn't match colours but it does the trick, we're going to paint it all one colour in the spring. Here's a pic of our new home away from home, and Dave's sled. We have almost the identical sled, mine is the same engine but the liquid cooled model, his is the fan cooled. And I have yellow vents, trailing arms and skis on mine. (my sled)

Shaun_300
Re: Our New Shack on the Ottawa River Oh it sure does! We tested out the propane heater this afternoon, within 5 minutes I had to take my coat off! It's not too cold up here now, but when she dips down to -30 we won't have to worry about being cold! Shaun_300
Re: Our New Shack on the Ottawa River Nope, the river is usually only frozen from around Christmas to early April. The shack is portable, on that particular one, we use two 2x8s for skis, and we have screw-eyes on the front of the shack so we can pull it in and out with the skidoo. We usually put them out at the end of December, or whenever the ice is at least 6" thick, and take them off either by March 15th, or March 31st. The Ottawa River is the 15th, and at Golden Lake, where my other shack is, it's the 31st. My other shack comes apart in pieces, the 4 walls, roof, and floor. We use a trailer behind a 4 wheeler or skidoo to bring that one out.
muggs
Re: Our New Shack on the Ottawa River I'm jealous Shaun, we had 7" formed right around Christmas, I thought we were heading for our best season ever, that all melted in about 3 weeks and the water has been open ever since. Oh well, maybe next year.

[/ QUOTE ] I love the MXZ's, I'd like to get a 2000-2002 MXZ 600 or 700. My sled is a 96 Formula SLS 500, Dave's is a 96 Formula SL 500 fan. Shaun_300
Re: Our New Shack on the Ottawa River [ QUOTE ] Very nice. How about a pic of the inside, if you can. [/ QUOTE ] Sure! Here's a pic of Dave's little daughter Mackenzie fishing in the small hole. She's 3 1/2. Here she is again, having a snooze. You can see our propane heater in the corner, it sure keeps it nice and toasty in there. It's hard to get one of the whole shack in one pic, this one shows the back part of it, that's the big hole in the corner, it's 32"x18". There's a window where the towel is, we just have that there for a curtain, makes it easier to see the bottom down the holes.
